Well, the first issue is now being lettered - digitally, thankfully.

I am now faced with the dilema of having to consider 'coloring' the book. Well, not color per se - we're simply wanting to add grey-shading tonality to the page work. The timetable for adding color is cropping up on me. I had always envisioned the book as a B&W project, but the grey tonality does add a certain depth otherwise lacking in a colorless project. If I find a colorist who fits the bill and who can get the work done in under 45 days from receipt of pages, I'll print it as such. If my deadline runs out or I can't find a suitable colorist, we'll print as forecasted: straight black and white.

For those who aren't familiar with the work, the project has been written by a professional (London Night Studios), pencilled by a variety of paid professionals (Marvel, Dark Horse, Image), inked by a paid professional (Marvel, Image), and lettered by a paid professional (Dark Horse, Image, Dynamite).

The colorist, unfortunately, will not be paid. Not upfront, at any rate.

Too much money has been put out for this project just to get it ready for the printers with no return yet. However, any budding colorjockey who would like to be associated with a professionally-packaged title, would like to not only practice their art but be printed at the same time, and who doesn't mind waiting until after the books are shipped to be paid, drop me a line at slickaway@slickaway.com with some samples.
